Meet Kim
Andrew was born in South Korea nearby a city named “Inchon”. At the young age of fourteen, Andrew came to United States with his parents under special immigrant category which allows an immigrant visa for working for American troops for over fifteen years.
Early life
After arrival in 1974, Andrew enrolled in the South Gate High School and went on to graduate with Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science at Claremont McKenna College in the City of Claremont, California.
Pursing a legal study, Andrew enrolled in Pepperdine Law School in Malibu, California and attained the Juris Doctor degree in May 1986.
Professional Career
Since obtaining his degree and passing the California Bar Exam, Andrew opened a one man law firm, Law Offices of Andrew Kim, in the mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles and has lived and worked here in the city of Los Angeles for last thirty years. Throughout those years, Andrew has helped thousands of individuals from all backgrounds and nationalities with myriad of legal problems ranging from immigration to civil rights. He is best known as being a civil rights attorney. Not only did he fight for the individual civil rights, he has been working to protect the rights of senior citizens and women in subsidized senior housing accommodations.
Education - Religious beliefs
While working as a lawyer, Andrew, as a born again Christian, enrolled in Talbot Theological Seminary in the City of La Mirada, California and obtained the Master’s Degree with honor in Theology in 2018. Andrew is presently on leave while pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Religion at Claremont Graduate School.
Hobbies
Andrew is an avid runner, having completed both 2020 and 2022 L.A. Marathon. He is also a comedian, performing at Flappers and Comedy Chateau.
Ever civic minded, Andrew ran for the California 46th Assembly seat in 1996 and also ran for the Los Angeles City Council 10th district seat against Herb Wesson in 2011, coming in second among the field on eight. Andrew had served as a Los Angeles County Commissioner for Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Commission and a temporary judge of Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles.
